Wifi drops after 2.7.2.104

Hi,

after updating my Orbi recently to 2.7.2.104, the WiFi connection seems to be instable.

On my iPad devices for example, wifi is regulary disconnected.

Trying to reconnect leads to al long lasting attempt, and then the message that the password is incorrect.

When typing the password again the wifi connects as normal, and after a few days it occurs again.

Both iPad devices and Orbi have been reset several times, but no result up until now.

Any advice, eg. searching in logging etc. before completely factory resetting the device?

The last option would not be preferrable due to all the work to getr things back online.

Also the only moment to execute that would be in the middle of the night due to heavy usage of the devices.

Regards,

Erwin

This is not true, from my point of view.

Usually only problems are reported here in the forums, but seldom successfull updates.

2.7.2.104 is the most stable firmware since 2.5.1.16, the only issue I recognized:
      - connection speed in Orbi App is missing for devices not connected to RBR

      - but Orbi App (iOS) is anyway not recommended (my personal opinion)

Thanks for your opinion.  A simple search here will prove otherwise.  IF your update to this firmware was so successful, why wait to post a counter comment?  As you said, perhaps this forum does need more successful posts.  The caution to that would be to include system setup, devices, update procedure, etc.  To simply say the firmware is good is not always true.  My comment is only posted on years of watching others in here dive into a firmware update only to return in a few days wishing they hadn't.  Lets bring on the successful update details.

  • Try a full power OFF of the RBR and RBS and modem for 30 seconds then back on.

IF this does work, is it a part of the firmware update instructions provided by Netgear?
