Wifi turning off every hour or so

Hello,

I have an orbi RBS50 that seems to be shutting down the wifi LAN every couple of hours now for the past few days. When I go into the admin GUI it just shows "warning wireless off". I have power cycled it and that seems to fix issue for a few hours but keeps coming back. any thoughts? below is my high-level topology

ISP --> Cable modem--> RBS50 (router) --> RBS50 (AP) / RBW30 (AP)

Thanks!

  • What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.

What is the distance between the router and 📡 satellite(s)? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR and RBS📡 to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.

Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and router been performed since last update?
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
    Turn off and unplug modem.
    Turn off router and computers.
Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on computers and rest of network.

Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update?

I am on the latest firmware for all devices...I did a factory reset and that seemed to fix the issue for a week or so but now its back to its old ways.

The cable modem and physical cables all check out ...it just seems the wireless services turn off on the RBR50 and no way to turn them on...May just have to get a new head end unit...

What channels are you using? Auto? Try Auto and 48 on 5Ghz. Or try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and 40 to 48 channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?
