Wireless Half the Speed of Console

I just bought the Orbi Mesh system after bad luck with the TP Link DecoM9Plus. I have Century Link internet with 100mbps down and 10 up. After setting them up the SpeedTest on the app shows 100 and 10 but speedtest.net shows about half the download and full upload. I have disabled and enabled the things people have said but without any solutions. I do not have my CL modem in bridge mode as it took me 3 years before moving to successfully get into bridge mode and last time I tried it wouldn't work. It is PPoE but whenever I actually try to enable that in the Orbi or other router it fails and I have to reset both and start from scratch. I know these wireless speeds are possible because my linksys EA8300 had no problem reaching them in the same house with strong connection.

  • What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?

What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR and RBS to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.

Try enabling Beamforming and MIMO(MIMO may or may not be needed) and WMM. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings
    Not seen on Orbi AX.

Try disabling the following and see:
Armor, Circle, Daisy Chain, Fast Roaming, IPv6 and Set 20/40Mhz Coexistence to 40Mhz only. Set Short preamble instead of Long preamble modes. Save settings and reboot the router and satellite(s).

  • Wirelessly my laptop will exceed those speeds. Other wireless devices I own also get about half that wirelessly (iPad, iPhone, droid phone, etc). My Xbox on the other hand will only get at best 35Mbps down/ 20 up still. Tried several options but couldn't ever improve speed. Bought an Ethernet cable and boom, getting 120 down 22ish up. Any explanation as to why the Xbox speeds would vary that much between wired and wireless when my other devices do better?

Xbox wireless adapter drivers in there consoles have never been top notch or good performing. There are known various problems with some of there wifi adapters. Reason why it's recommended to always use ethernet connections for gaming consoles.
