AC790 and an USB to Ethernet adapter

What chipset does AC790 feature? With what USB-to-ethernet adapter will it automatically work, i.e. what model will be out-of-the-box supported by AC790's kernel? Netgear's own cradle uses such a mechanism, so clearly this is possible. On Windows AC790 connects over USB using RNDIS protocol, so USB tethering is also possible on Linux using similar mechanics, but what about stand alone usb-to-ethernet adapters?

Thanks for helping me out.

Thanks. Apart from that site, how do you what chips run AC790? I've been searching and searching for such info and found nothing solid anywhere. Did you take it apart?

Edit: WTR3925 appears right. Specs match AC790 capabilities. If so, then the CPU is also Snapdragon, but which model?

To find out the suitable usb-to-ethernet adapter we should know what chip the Neatgear DC113A craddle runs on. Anything else using that chip will work on a plug-n-play basis.

Any of you guys owns the craddle?

  • I agree with the OP.

the base is connected the same way. so if we can identfy the chip in teh base same chip will work as usb ethernet adapter.

this is all to do with installed drivers in the kernel not related teh CPU or other chips.

any one has the base  DC112A or DC113A can they plug it into a PC and identfy chipsets?

    cheers
