AC790 can't lock to home service provider

Question

When I switch on my AirCard 790 with 3UK SIM card inserted, sometimes it can lock to 3UK network but sometimes not. &nbsp;So I need to lock to 3UK manually in case it fails to lock to my home network. Even though I've locked to 3UK manually, sometimes it unlocks automatically and locks to another network which I can't access. &nbsp;Is my device faulty or I just need some settings to permanently lock it to 3UK? Thanks.

My home network is 3Uk. &nbsp;When I switch on my AC790, sometimes it connects to 3UK network but sometimes connects to other networks such as EE or O2 which I have no access. &nbsp;So I have to connect to 3UK manually. &nbsp;Even though my AC790 is connected to 3UK manually, the connection can easily drop and the device connects to other networks automatically. &nbsp;May I know is there any method to solve the problem and can enable my device to be connected to home network permanently? Thanks.

That's exactly the problem with my Aircard 790. &nbsp;My SIM is provided by 3 UK. My Aircard 790 should be able to connect to 3UK network only but, as a matter of fact, it sometimes connects to other &nbsp;networks&nbsp;which I have no access - the Status LED then turns from blue into amber. &nbsp;I found that the problem arises when I go into an area in which the signal of 3UK is weaker than those of other networks. &nbsp;When I return to an area with strong 3UK network signal, my Aircard can't switch back to 3UK network and I have to re-connect to 3UK network manually. I had another mobile router of another brand which never connected to networks other than that used by the SIM.

I think part of the problem is due to the firmware of mr Aircard. &nbsp;My previous mobile router of another brand can, like a mobile phone, enable me to select network manually. Once opted for manual selection, the device couldn't connect to other networks unless I manually connect to another network or I opted for automatic selection again. But for my Aircard, there isn't any option for manual selection of network. &nbsp;The only option available is "Scan" the available networks and connect to one of them which I have access right manually (3UK in my case). &nbsp;But when I go into an area where the 3UK signal is weak, my Aircard will disconnect 3UK and re-connect to another network which I have no access right. &nbsp;I found my Aircard reverts to automatic network selection mode and I need to repeat the scan process again to connect to 3UK manually.&nbsp;&nbsp;I think Netgear needs to provide a firmware upgrade to allow manual connection of networks to solve my problem.&nbsp;I wish to clarify that my SIM is provided by 3 in Hong Kong which requested me to connect to 3UK network while roaming in United Kingdom.
