Aircard Can't Shutdown

My Aircard 810S (Telstra Wi-Fi 4GX Advance) cannot be shutdown after charging.  I can request shutdown, but it just goes back to the message "Fully charged, please disconnect from power" and will not shutdown, despite being unplugged from power.  The only way to shut this device down is to remove the battery every single time it is charged.  What is wrong here and how can I fix it?

    Hello DLS1

I would contact Telstra support if the power button on the device is not working at all could be a issue with the hardware.

  • I don't believe it's a hardware problem as mine is doing the same thing. This behaviour started after the last software update. According to the software check I'm using the latest version.

I am having exactly the same problem.

  • Further to my post saying I had the same problem. I checked all the settings, removed the battery and reinstalled the battery. It now works fine. I assume it had been in some loop. Anyway it now seems quite OK.

  • I have exactly the same problem. The device works well and shuts down as it should between charges, but after charging the only way to shut it down is to remove the battery. If it was a hardware problem it would be doing it all the time, wouldn't it? The problem started after the most recent, and latest update. A solution would be greatfully received as the Australian Telstra Crowd Support seems unable to offer advice.

I have been tracking issues with the 810s and been sending this info over to our engineers for them to work on fixing in firmware I will add this to the list of issues.

Thank you DarrenM: I am looking forward to a solution. In a previous post I said I had solved the problem but this was not correct. Removing and reinserting the battery and card allows shutdown only until the unit is put on charge. After charging the battery and card must be removed and reinsereted again. I have always held NETGEAR in high regard and was disappointed when this Aircard did not work properly.

  • Hi I have the same problem. To remove battery each time to produce shudown is just silly! I have been back twice to my supplier, (Telstra Australia), and the supposed experts there cannot fix it. This equipment is rubbish. To leave unused items operating is a security hazard and wastes energy. I do not care if the enrgy is tiny- it is still poor practice.
