Can't get back into configured and working DM200 modem

I am trying to get the login page of my DM200 modem.

It has been running for years in MODEM ONLY mode with an R6400 router. Now I am troubleshooting internet issues with my ISP, and need to confirm to them my modem settings. And I simply can't figure out how to log back into my DM200.

I can login to the R6400 router. It gives me following IP info:

Internet 50.1.169.59

Gateway 50.1.169.1

So I tried to bring up my DM200 login page from a Safari browser connected to the R6400 Wifi using the above IP addresses. No login page. Then I tried 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.5.1 (the default per DM200 manual). No login page. Then I connected my PC directly to the DM200 LAN port, and tried all above-mentioned IP numbers. No login page.

Am I making a basic network mistake here? Or could it be the Safari browser? Any help much appreciated. Thanks.

    From the manual...

After you disable the modem’s routing features and the modem functions as a DSL modem only, you can access the modem only through a fixed IP address, which is 192.168.5.1.Therefore, make sure that IP address 192.168.5.1 is not assigned to another device on your network. Your routers manual - Page 70.

You won't be able to get to it from the router's. .1.x subnet.  Plugging directly into a LAN port with a laptop, on the DM200, launch a browser and connect to 182.168.5.1. FIRST things FIRST. Configure your laptop's NIC card in the 192.168.5.x network -  use address: 192.168.5.100  mask: 255.255.255.0. This should get you onto the DM200.

Thank you. Always helps to read the manual.
