How do I lock my Netgear Nighthawk hotspot to only use 5G?
It keeps flipping back to 4G even though there is a strong, fast 5G signal available. I have to reboot the hotspot for it to go back to the much faster 5G signal. Give it a few minutes or a few hours and it'll get stuck on 4G. The hotspot is stationary. I am not moving it at all when this happens.

The 4G signal is 10Mbps, while the 5G signal is 250Mbps. I obviously don't want to be limited to 1/25th the speed.

Get out, bot.
Fascinating. Netgear appears to have neglected to provide that option. See page 46 of the user manual.

Choices are:
Is it correct to assume that this MR6500 is connected to wall power and the Power Mode is set to "Plugged In"?

This is the only option. The hotspot is plugged in and using that power mode yes.

You can usually lock your Netgear Nighthawk hotspot to 5G only by accessing its admin settings through a web browser—just enter the device IP (often 192.168.1.1) and log in. In the wireless or mobile network settings, look for a “Preferred Network Mode” or “Band Selection” option and choose 5G.
