How do i manually update the firmware on Nighhawk m1 ( mr1100)?

Hello and thanks for helping

When i click on "check for updates" in administration manu on router's login page. it says it's uptodate! .  while when i check the version and date and compare it with the netgear site. it shows im 3 years behind.  and on Netgear android app there's also no where to mess around with firmware

I noticed Netgear lets me downlaod the firmware from the site. but there is no way for me to upload it into the device..

are there anyway i can do this?

Thank you very much and excuse me if this has been asked B4

"there is no way"?  Interesting conclusion.  Any basis?

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Downloads.  (For older versions, under Firmware and Software
Downloads, look for "View Previous Versions".)  Find the kit(s).
Download the kit(s) you want.  Read the "Release Notes" file for
    instructions.

  • You have posted your message in the section of this community given over to Nighthawk WiFi Routers. (This is easily done, given Netgear's complicated community structure.)

Many questions apply to different types of device, so there may be useful responses here, but mobile routers and hotspots differ from standard routers in many ways, so you might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:

    Mobile Routers, Hotspots & Modems

In the meantime you could visit the support pages:

    Support | NETGEAR

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.

You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.

I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.
