LAX20 Poor WiFi signal

I have a AX1800 LAX20 AX6 Router and the WiFi outputs -90DB within the same room.

Anyone had this before?

The ethernet works great but the WiFi is unusable.

Regards, George

While many questions about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge.

You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:

    Mobile Routers, Hotspots & Modems

Those things are very different from the standard Netgear routers covered in this section.

I will ask the Netgear moderator to move your message.

In the meantime you could visit the support pages:

    Support | NETGEAR

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.

    Check for various troubleshooting tips.

You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.

I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.

    Hi Bonderz,

    Please provide router's firmware version.

Is it affecting all of your Wireless devices? What are these devices?

What is your Subscribed speed? Expected speed? Actual speed?

If you haven't tried factory resetting the router, please do so and observe the connection.

    Regards,
    Blanca

Hi Bianca, I am running the latest version of firmware available. It's all devices unfortunately and I have tried a factory reset. My broadband speeds are correct. Its the distance of the WiFi that is the issue. The signal broadcasted does not cover more than 10ft and the device is meant to cover 1600ft?

      Best Wishes,
