Netgear Nighthawk - constant reboots

Hi, I have the MR1100EE model running the latest firmware (NTG9X50C_12.06.03.00). My device randomly resets without reason during the day, it always comes back but it is quite irratating as the network will fully drop out due to the reboot.

I've tried to have a different SIM card in the device, the issue still occurs with a different SIM. I've tested the device with and without the battery in, it reboots whether or not it has the battery and whether or not the battery is charged. It doesn't appear to be power related as I've had the device unplugged and it's reset itself when running only off battery as well.

The GUI doesn't appear to have any pages with logs - it says the GUI version is MR1100-100EUS_04.01.67.00

Are you able to suggest a fix, or a way I can get to the logs (ie telnet or similar) so I can see why my device is reloading itself? The reloads are random, it may occur once a day or five times a day at random times.

  • Hi there,

U can try with good charger with quick charge 3.0 and a good cable that support quick charge 3.0 to solve the issue.

Its best to off the router to charge the battery so it doesnt get hot.

I can try a higher specced charger but im not sure why that would help when the battery is in the device. Does it bypass the battery when the power is in?

Not sure if it bypasses the battery, but I seem to have less issues when using a 24w charger Samsung usb C charger
  • I've used 3 different chargers (Standard charger, Apple charger + Qualcomm Quick Charger 3.0). The device randomly reboots itself on all 3.

I went out and bought a huawei box as it's the only other one which covers the nearby spectrums that I could get at a good price. It hasn't reset at all yet and uses the same SIM + power source.

I would prefer to use the netgear router as I get higher throughput on the download speed, so if anyone can suggest a potential fix it would be appreciated. Or suggest a way that I can get to the device logs and see why it is rebooting.
