Nighthawk M1 Mobile Hotspot shows "your data connection is disconnected"

Model M1100  Firmware NTG9X50C-12.06.39.00

I am having regular problems with data disconnecting. Factory resey=t worked last week. This time I had to try factory reset about 4 times before the connection came back.  Its happening perhaps once a week.

Some understanding of what the issue is would be appreciated

Thanks

  • I've had exactly the same problem for a few months now. However, now even factory reset doesn't work. The wi-fi connection isn't showing available, therefore I can't go through set-up. It's pretty much bricked 😡

I raised a ticket with Netgear but they want $99 from me to even offer technical assistance. Absolute joke!

I've tried to follow another thread and update the firmware, following this: Nighthawk M1 MR1100-100 does not broadcast the sig... - NETGEAR Communities

The update keeps failing though and i don't know what i'm doing wrong. I've downloaded the latest firmware from their website, which also fails. Very, very frustrating.

Might be worth a try for you. You might have more luck / tech knowledge than me. Any advice appreciated if you do suss it out. Good luck!

  • It sounds like you're dealing with recurring data disconnection issues, which persist even after multiple factory resets. Since the problem is happening about once a week and requires a factory reset to fix, there are a few possible explanations:

    Potential Causes & Fixes

    1. Network Issues (Carrier or ISP)

    • If your mobile data or Wi-Fi connection is dropping, the issue could be on your network provider's end.
    • Fix: Try using a different SIM card (if mobile data) or another Wi-Fi network to see if the problem persists.

    2. Software or Firmware Glitches

    • Some software bugs can cause periodic connection failures, requiring a reset.
    • Fix: Ensure your phone’s software and carrier settings are up to date. If the issue started after an update, a rollback may be needed.
