Advice on network structure - GSM4328PA Stack + GS728TP

I've got an estate of GS728TP/GS752TP switches that are all working well.  I have VLANs setup for CCTV cameras, and for Visitor WIFI.  The VLANs are trunked across all of the switches, and everything is working well.

My problem is that we have exhausted all of the IP addresses in our subnet (192.168.16.0).  I want to setup a new subnet (say 192.168.17.0, and have all of the DHCP devices move over to this new subnet.

I purchased a couple of GSM4328PA unit to use in a stack, so that there is some redundancy to the routing on my network.  Stack is all configured ready to go, with a single IP address that I will use as the Default Gateway for the other devices on the network.

Do I need a separate VLAN for the new subnet, or can both subnets exist on VLAN 1?  My DHCP server is a static ip Win2k12 DHCP server on the 192.168.16.0 network.  Where do I need to place a DHCP Relay agent?

Thanks

Mark

    Hi markdamen,

    Welcome to our community! :)

I strongly recommend to set up a new subnet and VLAN for your new network as you already exhausted all the IPs from your previous network. You just need to create a new network from your DHCP server that will serve as your default gateway. You just need to set up a Trunk port in order for the new VLAN to pass through across your network.
