GS752TPP poe problem with hikvision
Hi, i have bought a switch model GS752TPP to change my old ubiquiti switch 24p 500watt poe. With ubiquiti i not have a problem with a ipcamera that is distance 70 meters with cable ethernet, from th...

Just in case Have restarted the switch after enabling the longer detection time on all ports? Double checked the config is in place, including the enabled longer config time on the PoE port settings? Can you please provide the screenshot of the PoE config again please?

I think to know what is the problem, the cable that is not copper pure, but with ubiquiti this problem not was there.
Bad cabling can have an impact of course. If all four pairs are wired correct, the cable material (pure copper vs copper aluminum alloy for example) should not have a major impact.

I don't understand they speak a standard of poe if they are not good standard.
Hope you understood Netgear has added a (non-standard) additional delay to ensue the PoE handshake is workable on these Hikvision cams.

Hi, thanks for the answer.
I restarted the switch after changed the settings but the problem persist unfortunately.
In attached you can see the screen of my settings poe.
The couples of cables are correct, if i use same cable for not much meters (2-3 meters) the camera came detect correct. I suppose that the problem is the cable becouse once time i changed with same lenght (70 meters) and was pure copper and with a different switch (tplink) i was have same problem. In this case i was changed only one cable and i bought other switch (ubiquiti) and the rest of camera that have this problem, with ubiquiti have worked whitout problem. Now the ubiquiti is dead (after 6-7 years).
I will check the couples of cables for secure, but i think the problem is material of cable.
However can you tell me the schema of cable for rj45 cable, i check it. Thanks

Doubt this is a pure cabling issue, here anyway the two standardized types for cables and fixed installation. Key is to use the same one on both ends:
According the provided screenshot, several (many) ports are providing power.
What does the port status information show on the Switching -> Ports -> Ports Configuration -> Physical Status, and Link Status?
Have or had some VLAN config in place before, so the cameras might be hard coded for using tagged VLANs for example?
Key is the pairing. For example flat cables without twisted pairs are a recipe for a disaster.
Either way, as you own a factory new switch, you can always get in touch with the support via https://my.netgear.com/ ... Your Registered Products -> (select your switch) -> Get Support (by phone, chat, email) ... and from there you go

Hi, thanks for the answer.
I have checked the cable and the couples are good, checked with electronic tester. In attached you can see that all ports are in full duplex mode, and you can see 100 only where there are ipcamera that work.
Tomorrow i try to contact the support.
I'm very very disappointed from netgear for this problem. - schumakuJun 21, 2023Guru - Experienced User

According to the Hikvision DS-2CD2032F-I information (including the datasheet) it's clear these discontinued value cameras have a 1 RJ-45 10 M/100 M Ethernet interface only. Difficult for the switch to negotiate a higher link rate.
Disappointment where disappointment belongs to please. Look, Netgear has even added an off-standard PoE negotiation timer to make these basic cameras workable. 8-)
But seriously: A Fast Ethernet link is perfectly fine for these value cameras - there is not more coming out there:
Image
Max. Image Resolution 1280 × 960 2048 × 1536
Frame Rate
50 Hz: 25 fps (1280 × 960), 25 fps (1280 x 720),
25 fps (704 x 576), 25 fps (640 x 480)
60 Hz: 30 fps (1280 × 960), 30 fps (1280 x 720),
30 fps (704 x 576), 30 fps (640 x 480)
50 Hz: 20 fps (2048 x 1536), 25 fps (1920 × 1080),

60 Hz: 20 fps (2048 x 1536), 30 fps (1920 × 1080),
30 fps (1280 x 720)The same applies to the replacement product promoted down the line like this DS-2CD2645FWD-IZS 4 MP Outdoor IR Varifocal Network Bullet Camera btw.

Just to finalize this thread: The GS752TPP isn't a managed switch - its a Smart Switch (T).
- hunte88Jun 26, 2023AspirantHi, i have contacted the support and the answer is....netgear not support hikvision cameras.
Very very unprofessional this damned switch.
I reback thi switch. I'll take ubiquiti, more expensive but work for all.
I suggest to not buy this switch for certified ipcamera as hikvision. This cameras are very professional...and netgear not support it.
Baaah
See the answer of my ticket support. - schumakuJun 26, 2023Guru - Experienced User
hunte88 still expect to get an impossible Gigabit link speed or what?
Have challenged Hikvision about their camera model? According to the details you posted, the camera does negotiate and establish a Fast Ethernet link. Keep in mind, this series and specs were outdated for several generations since that product release.
Netgear has introduced an off-standard control to allow these camera series succeed on the PoE handshake. For the fun of it I've just released this updated firmware https://kb.netgear.com/000065628/MS108EUP-Firmware-Version-1-0-1-9 :
Enhancements:
,,,,
Support for a new PoE option of "Longer Detection Time" for some powered devices (PDs) that require longer detection time such as Hikvision camera model DS-2CD2146G2-ISUI or model DS-2CD2046G2-IU.
Both these models clearly show Ethernet Interface 1 RJ45 10 M/100 M self-adaptive Ethernet port, so no way for a Gigabit Ethernet link.
That much about Netgear does not "support" this camera brand. For further troubleshooting, challenge Hikvision as the camera vendor....
- hunte88Jun 26, 2023AspirantThe problem is not the negotiation. The other cameras same model but with cable of 50 meters work fine. The problem is that netgear not certfied the 100 meters cables.
You have see the answer italian support in the last screen that i have attached? They tell that not support hikvision and i tell you not only the model that i specified in this thread. I tried also DS-2CD1023G0-I but the problem is same. With cable of 50 meters work, but if i use a 70 meters cable not work. The problem are not the cameras...with ubiquiti worked.
The firmware that you posted i understand it but for my case not work. There is same version of firmware for my model but not work. - hunte88Jun 26, 2023AspirantFor poe the standard suggest to use cable pure copper, in my case is not pure copper. In the past i tested 100 meters cable pure copper with tplink switch and work all. But when i use other cable for other camera same lenght but not pure copper, i had a problem. I have taked a ubiquiti switch gigabit with 500 watt and i detect that if the cable is not pure copper, it work.
Now the ubiquiti is dead after 6-7 years and i not have found not expensive model. I was supposed that the netgear not had the problem as my original tplink...
Before i purchaise i see that was compatible with standard poe 802.3af and 802.3at. The brand of camera is ininfluent for this standard. If is certified for standard 802.3af and 802.3at it must work until 100m . I don'tell i but the standard. The negotiation is not the problem.
