Thank you both for the suggestions and reference documents.
I have decided to replace the router with one designed for business use.
It seems to me that, with only 3 phones, a business router would eliminate the need for a managed switch.
Please let me know if that isn't correct.

This does lead to the question if there is a need for a business router and a managed switch if there are just three IP phones at all?
