    The GSS116E is - like every other Netgear Plus switch (despite the misleding marketing designation) not a managed switch, and it does not have any STP (Spanning Tree) functionality.

     

    Sid that: Since this switch is in no apsect a Managed Switch class product, I'll challenge a moderator to move this thred to the more appropriate Plus and Smart Switches Forum to discuss Smart Switches (T) and Plus Switches (E), including Local and Remote Management.

    No experienced network admin would ever disble STP while keeping BPDUs forwarded, except for troubleshooting or experimenting.

     

    Are you having a real issue or just attempt to follow some extremely generic and misleading advise?
