Mirror uplink on a stack
I have enabled OSPF across a connection coming in and I want to split that connection and plug it in to both switches. Is this possible? I cannot add the same IP address to a port on the other sw...

Dec 26, 2016Hi l27,
As your reqirement, you could configure as below:
Step1: add two ports to one LAG port; refer to the link (Page258 Link Aggregation Groups).
Step2: create a VLAN, add the LAG port to VLAN; refer to the link (Page169-175 Configure VLANs).
Step3: enable L3 VLAN routing port and set IP address; refer to the link (Page315 Configure VLAN Routing).

That makes perfect sense. I will give that a shot. Because of the nature of these changes I will not be able to do this without scheduling maintenance downtime. So please be patient if I don't reply within the next week or 2.
Thanks,
John

Thanks for following up. I just got some time to try this finally. I couldn't get it to work. As soon as I disabled OSPF on port 1/0/2 it seams like all routing would stop. I did create the LAG and the VLAN, added the IP address and enabled OSPF for the new VLAN but it wouldn't work. I have a local VLAN that would stop working. Oddly enough I could ping a device on the other local VLAN from the other VLAN. So from VLAN 1 to VLAN 100 I could ping but nothing else would work. Very strange. Also routes to the other site would not work across the newly created VLAN 10. Also after I removed the port from OSPF and enabled OSPF on the new VLAN I could ping the VLAN ip address from VLAN 1 but I would have random time outs.
Not sure where to go from here.
