Error opening the image file image2
Backup Image failed activation.
Failed to activate Backup Image.
When i try to send .opr image to switch via xmodem if fails with crc error.
Kindly advice how to proceed further.

Edit - didn't catch the error message when you attempted loading the backup image.
The firmware image 8.0.3.49 has a .stk file extension, not .opr as you mentioned.
I always mess up what up and download means, one of these 2 options should allow you to send send/upload (from perspective of your computer) the .stk file to the switch. (I used Tera Term's File -> Transfer -> XMODEm -> Send...)
You might consider changing the baud rate in the boot menu (2) and on your terminal emulator since most older switches like yours defaulted to 9600 baud and uploading the firmware with the maximum speed is going to take significantly less time.
