New XS728T - need to connect to a 10GB Switch and a 1 GB
Our network team just received a XS728T switch. We are going to use this switch for a vSphere7 ESXi Cluster The XS728T will need to communicate to other servers that are on a 1GB (not sure brand) ...

You will need to configure the VLANs on the XS728T that will be communicating with the devices connected to all switches. If the 10G switches has 5 VLANs and the 1G switch also has 5 and you need to get to talk to all devices residing on those VLANs then you will also need to setup those VLANs on the XS728T. But if you only need VLAN 46 to connect then you will need to set it up on the XS728T.
You will also have to setup the trunk port that will be connnecting to the other switch. You can check the KB Article here on setting up the vlan and trunk.
The port speed will not matter as it will automatically be set once you connect it, just make sure it is 10G or 1G as the XS728T only supports 10G/1G speed. You can also set the port speed to manual 1G if you want, Here is the manual for the switch.
