Password Issues
More of a complaint than a question unless a backdoor somehow exists.
Recently configured the switch and went to create a more secure password.
I use Keeper and make all passwords long, complex, and unique.
It did tell me some of my special characters were unsupported.
I just opted for a longer alpha-numeric password, 25 characters/digits.
The UI appeared to accept the password, I go to login, "Login Failure."
Neither the old nor the new password works.
Time for a factory reset, thanks Netgear.

The error messages and user guidance should be more granular for the password change. Just a short indication might be a risk, because the in case then slightly different password applied won't be very useful.
Retrospective, very difficult guesswork which part or sections of the password manager generated random string might be not workable.
As this isn't a Netgear Insight managed device where the password can be defined and changed on demand by the location, and lack of a serial console connection, no alternate backdoor method known to me.
PS. Since we don't face a Managed Switch model here, much more a Plus And Smart Switch section to discuss Smart Switches (T) and Plus Switches (E), including Local and Remote Management models is more appropriate, so I've challenged a moderator to move this thread accordingly
