Service Management Interface M4300, Stacking Modus
We have build a stack of 4 x M4300 12x-12f.
The Stack should be only managed by the Out-of Band Service Interface (backsite).
Build as stack, there is only one configuration option for that interface, despite there are 4 physical Interfaces (one for each switch).
It's not made clear in the manual which one ist the interface we could use to mangage the switch-stack (try and error works), but the real question is:
What will happen when one switch (that hold the Out of Band Management interface) goes down?
There's no tutorial to configure the standby behavior, should we connect all management interfaces to our management network?
What about the IP addresses of the 4 OOB Interfaces.
Need some clearance here.
Thx

JSXT,
The switch that holds the Out of Band Management interface, I think you are referring to the stack master switch. If the stack master switch goes down, the remaining stack members participate in electing a new stack master switch.
Kindly access the articles below and these might help:
What is a stack master and how does it work with my managed switch?
What are stack members and how do they work with my managed switch?Regards,
