Spine and leaf underlying technology

Question

Does anyone know what the underlying technology is in the spine and leaf deployment model for managed switches?&nbsp; I.e. is it TRILL, VXLAN etc.?&nbsp; What is the end-to-end control plane?&nbsp; Is spanning-tree still required?

I apologize for the late response.&nbsp; I inquired your concern to the higher tier of NETGEAR Support and I was informed that the Spine &amp; Leaf implementation is based purely on Stacking. Each connection between spine – leaf is done using stacking.

Thanks, but the linked documents are very high-level.&nbsp; My questions are more technical, i.e. what technologies are underpinning the spine and leaf physical topology that are not in use with a legacy topology?&nbsp; E.g. many legacy L2/L3 topologies rely on STP; is the spine and leaf solution L3 to the edge?&nbsp; How does it handle VM mobility between leaves?
