Stripping/Tagging ISP VLAN on GS105Ev2

    For the port (e.g. port 1) where your fiber is connected make it a trunk (tagged) port for VLAN 40 port (e.g. port 5) where you connect your router, making it an access port.

     

    Almost as simple as you have lined out already 

    1. Adding a new VLAN 40
    2. Marking port 1 as tagged
    3. Updating the PVID to show port 1 is part of VLAN 40
    4. Marking port 5 as untagged member for VLAN 40 (but not a member of any other VLAN)
    5. Set the PVID for port 5 to 40, ensuring all frames coming in on port 5 are associated wot the VLAN 40

    Keep in mind the GS105Ev2 is a Plus configurable switch, built on an unmanaged switch core - in no aspect a managed switch.
