Hi John1414,
I suggest to perform the factory reset after each upgrade to have the switch start fresh with the new firmware as well as to check if it boots up fine after updating the firmware.

Hi John1414,
Welcome to the community! :)
From the firmware version you have indicated, it seems that you have a GS748Tv4 switch.
About the netflow software, I suggest you to set up port mirroring on the GS748Tv4 switch. Select the uplink port as the source port on the GS748Tv4. Then, select another port as a destination port on the GS748Tv4 where a PC with Wireshark installed is directly connected. Run Wireshark and observe the activity within the uplink port. It would be best that Wireshark would capture the packets on the event the error shows within the uplink port.
Kindly read page 247-248 of the GS748Tv4 software administration manual here on how to set up port mirroring. You may download Wireshark on this link. As reference, you may check this link I found online on how to use Wireshark.
The firmware v5.0.2.18 is the initial release firmware for the GS748Tv4, I recommend you to upgrade the firmware in a ladderized manner. What I mean is you upgrade the firmware from v5.0.2.18 to v5.0.2.28 then from v5.0.2.28 to v5.0.2.33 and so on until you reach the latest version which is v5.4.2.18. You may download the firmwares for the GS748Tv4 here. Be reminded to perform a factory reset after upgrading the firmware then reconfigure the switch from scratch.
After you have upgraded the firmware of the GS748Tv4 to the latest version, set up port mirroring again and run Wireshark as I have suggested above. Check if same errors shows within the uplink port.

Hi John1414,
Were you able to upgrade the GS748Tv4 switch to the latest firmware?
If yes, I would assume that you have performed port mirroring then run Wireshark. What are your observations?
