XSM7224S Stacking??

Hi all!

I'm trying to figure out how to stack the XSM7224S switches I have.

When trying to stack 2 switches I tried the both procedures that are shown here (http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/21896/related/1)

But it seem some info is missing, I am assuming I should set the unit ID, which I do, Unit 1 (the primary) and unit 2 (which I hope to become the member).

After this I've tried setting the stacking port on each unit, unit 1 - 1/0/24, unit 2 - 2/0/24) reloaded
Nothing happens

Tried setting unit 2 as a member, nope, tried well just so many different variant of stacking commands that seem reasonable, but still all that happens is that

Unit 1 - want to be Stack manager
Unit 2 - want to be stack manager

Neither see the other as a member...
Confusing...

I'm using a CAT6 cable in an ethernet port - port 24 on each unit, I'll now try with a DACu+ cable...

Anyone with a decent guide or similar if you're up to it please reply to this.

Cheers and have a nice weekend!

/Dave

  • Nevermind... I did a quick reset of the stacking ports and rebooted both switches... That did the trick... d'oh Now unit 1 is stackmanager and unit 2 a member. /Dave
