5-Port Gigabyte Switch (managed)

Does the GS105Ev2, switch allow me to route incoming traffic to a specific Port only?  Specifically, route to a Web server.

  • Nope.

Please understand the Plus switches are configurable simple L2 switches with VLAN support - ways off from being a managed switch, and even more off from a L3 switch, and finally a L3 switch with policy routing support.

Please explain us exactly what use case you are behind, under what conditions you expect incoming traffic to be "routed" to that undefined Web server, what environment and what kind of Internet access finally supposed to serve a Web server.

In the past the LAN routing feature was built into the Modem

I wish to host a  Webserver at my office, and route incoming (external) traffic to Port 80, 443 and other ports to a specific internal Local Network IP Address (i.e. 192.168.1.xxx).

Apparently, a switch is not the resolution.  I think what I am searching for is a LAN Router. What does Netgear offer that will serve my purpose?

I hope I explained my request clearly enough.

Most newer ISP supplied cable CPEs are modems and NAT routers these days.

Yes, plain standard port forwarding on the router does the job.

Sure, many different models available from Netgear. DIfferentiation are Wi-Fi technology, Wi-Fi Mesh tehnology to expand the wireless coverage, specality models for gaming, ... Personally, I would avoid buying integrated cable modem and router combos, unless you get some affordable or free offers from the ISP.

Business WiFi Mesh Systems (multiple networks/VLANs)

        Whole Home Mesh WiFi

        WiFi Routers
