A PS3 has an industry standard GbE port - why should this require any fiddling?
Of course you could create some LAG using multiple links, being using RJ45 copper ports, being by using the SFP ports (what requires SFP to whatever media [fiber, copper]. Depends on the usage of the link currently connecting the two switches if this is required or not.
What is a repeater in your context?

"A PS3 has an industry standard GbE port - why should this require any fiddling?"
Exactly - you tell me (not being cheeky) but thats exactly my thought....why would i have to mess around with anything...but i did...
Repeater....asus access point set up in repeater mode...
Now ive started messing around with the individual port settings (and getting the PS3 working) ill be trying on my DE-10 Nano board next - another device thats never worked....ive also got a HD Homerun again - plugged into the netgear - doesnt work...plugged into an 8port netgear poe switch..works fine...
As i said probably my inability from a networking knowledge point of view but any suggestions would be great - cheers.
Thank you for the reply.

Sorry to miss your other reply.....sfp's...can you advise me of any model numbers for a couple that i could use to link the 2?
Assuming i you can (and i do) is it just a plug in and go or is there any config that needs to be done?
I do have loads of spare capacity on each switch so i could happily link 4 ports together also...but not sure how to do it...
