Hi guys, updating to the latest firmware fixed the issue on both old and new switch. Port LEDs are working fine on the new switch. However now the replacement switch I have received is already registered on someone else's account.

The warranty replacements you receive from Netgear are already registered to -your- account (and with the same warranty and support time endorsements as the one replaced).
