Can I use a GS308E with Deco Ethernet Backhaul?
I am looking for a small managed switch for Ethernet Backhaul on the Deco, as the wireless connections randomly disconnect. Fortunately, my friend has a spare GS308E that he is willing to give me. Has anyone tried using them together? It would be wonderful to receive some advice before I accept his generous offer:-D

While the GS308E is on no aspect a managed switch, please keep in mind that typical business switches (managed, smart managed, .. ) cone with features definitely not compatible with the IEEE 1905.1 protocol set.
The incompatibility comes from the fact most of he questioned switches are defaulting to Spanning Tree STP or the newer Rapid Spanning Tree RSTP, which are by design and intention incompatible with IEEE 1905.1.
To my knowledge, the GS308E does not support any kind of STP, since in its core it's an unmanaged switch Worth a try, but don't forget to disable the Loop Prevention as you have a GS308E at hand - and report back please.
