80 TopicsCan I use a GS308E with Deco Ethernet Backhaul?
I am looking for a small managed switch for Ethernet Backhaul on the Deco, as the wireless connections randomly disconnect. Fortunately, my friend has a spare GS308E that he is willing to give me. Has anyone tried using them together? It would be wonderful to receive some advice before I accept his generous offer:-D ThxSolvedS3300-28X EOL replacement
The S3300-28X is about EOL, original i would like to have the GS728TPv3 as the replacement. Everything looks good but if found that the bandwidth is a huge different. For S3300-28X, it is 128Gbps, bug GS728TPv3 only got 56Gbps. And i found similar grade with the bandwidth is XS728T, but it is much more expensive. Could you recommend some good alternative of S3300-28XDifference between GS752TP-200NAS an GS752TPP Switches
We are looking to upgrade our managed switch for our small business. I am trying to figure out the difference between the following managed switches: GS752TP-200NAS (I believe this is V2 of the GS752TP-100NAS that is now discontinued ? ) GS752TPP Questions include: 1) What are the difference in functionality? 2) Which is the "newer" switch ? I am looking for longevity 3) Do both require a "Cloud Subscription" to get full management capabilities? Please advise as I am having trouble finding the differences on the Web.Solved8-port 10G smart switch for ReadyNAS SMB network
Looking for help choosing a 10G switch: I have a new-to-me RN526x, which has 2x10G copper ethernet ports. Currently, it is connected to a Netgear GS108E switch (1 Gigabit x 8 ports). I would like to update the network with a 10G switch and 10G ethernet cards in two main computers. The situation is domestic offices, Windows 10, Cat 6 cabling, RNAS OS6.10.4. Noise level under 25dB is needed. I also have an older RNAS (ProPioneer, updated to OS6.10) that will be used as a backup for the RN526. It is limited to 2 x 1G ethernet ports. It can be connected to the updated 10G switch in a LAG arrangement. An 8-port 10G switch would serve the RNAS 526 (1 or 2 ports), main computers (2 ports total), the older RNAS (2 ports for the LAG), an uplink port to an additional 1G switch and leave one open port. Budget under US$1,000. Netgear XS708E or XS708T seem to fit. The XS708E is criticized for loud fan noise on Amazon. I am told these are older products. If forum members could point out other / newer products I should consider, that would be great. Also, comments on XS708E vs XS708T appreciated. They are the same price locally.Solved2.4KViews0likes2CommentsInter-vlan communication + port access restriction
Hi all. I'd like to have a following setup: VLAN10 - Desktop users VLAN20 - WLAN users VLAN30 - Printers VLAN50 - Management I want users from VLAN10 and VLAN20 to: - only be able to print from the printers on VLAN30 (a few specific open ports only) - not have any access to each other I also want admins from VLAN50 to have access to all other VLANs 1. What is a proper way of accomplishing following in general ? I'm having a few GS108Tv2 switches at my disposal. 2a. What are my options with those + a router ? 2b. Which switch should I consider in order to accomplish the task if only using a switch, without a router ? Additionally, I want to make sure, that if the switch gets factory reset (incl. resetting all the port-restrictions) and the complete network is opened and defaulted to VLAN1, none of the clients can access anything. (The router itself is physically secured, however, the rest of the switches are unfortunately not). 3. How would I accomplish that ? Thanx in advance.2.7KViews0likes6CommentsVLAN trunking on a GS116E
Hope I've specified the correct model above - I'm contemplating purchasing two of these GS116E it's described as a GS116E-200UKS ie NOT a GS116Ev2. Simply, can you please confirm that the GS116E is capable of VLAN Trunking? I ask because I have a mixed bag of PCs and IoT devices across two rooms and I want the PCs to talk to each other on one VLAN and put the IoT devices on the other VLAN and I don't want multiple network cables going through the wall... Cheers - and apologies if this has been answered elsewhere... Andrew
