I am looking for a small managed switch for Ethernet Backhaul on the Deco, as the wireless connections randomly disconnect. Fortunately, my friend has a spare GS308E that he is willing to give me. Has anyone tried using them together? It would be wonderful to receive some advice before I accept his generous offer:-D ThxSolvedSXR80 under warranty, but end of life
Hello, We have an SXR80 router and 2 SXS80 satellites. All are under warranty, but Netgear has EOL'd these devices. That means that there are no more firmware updates, etc. What are our options for replacing these? I mean, they weren't cheap and now they're not even supported by the manufacturer. Warranty doesn't mean much in this instance, does it?Can't Access NAS Shares Consistently on Windows 10 – Any Fix?
I upgraded my PC to Windows 10 mainly to play Stardew Valley multiplayer, but now I’m facing an issue where my NAS (RNAS2120) shares only work once after reboot. After that, it says the drive is already in use or throws a login error. I’ve set up NFS support and identity mapping, and it worked the first time — but stops after closing and reopening Explorer. Anyone know a reliable fix?SolvedRecommended Solution to Cover Very Large Outdoor Area
Hello. I am looking for guidance on a Wi-Fi purchase to support a Magic Leap Augmented Reality presentation with an extremely large outdoor area. I currently use a Nighthawk LTE Mobile Hotspot Router (MR1100) just fine with 4 Magic Leap 2 devices and Sphere from an on-premises laptop presenting medium to large buildings in AR. The internet is not involved in this equation for security. So, the data is sent from the secure laptop to the MR1100 router, and then to the Magic Leap 2 devices. The largest building I presented outdoors with only one MR1100 placed in the middle is ~16,000 sq. ft., and this worked just fine. However, I fear the size of the next project/building, which is ~191,000 sq. ft. (not to mention the site around it), will need Wi-Fi extenders, access points, mesh system, or other. In addition, we should be adding 3-6 Magic Leap 2 devices to this presentation. Can anyone recommend a solution/purchase for this coverage area and scenario? The power for these devices can be AC wired. However, battery operated is recommended if available. Our AR presentations typically range from 1-2 hours due to the battery life of the Magic Leap 2 devices.455Views0likes3CommentsNetgear XS508M question
Hi. I've been looking at buying two XS508Ms, but I've found out that the model is end of life and are no longer being manufactured. They're quite a big unit for just 9 (inc SFP+) ports. Does anyone know if NG are planning on releasing a newer, more compact 8 port 10gbe switch in the coming months at all? I've heard that the equivalent TP-Link (TL-SX1008) has a fan and can get quite noisy. I do love NG products and am loyal to them but I just can't wait forever. I've just bought an MS510TXM. Thanks in advance.238Views0likes3CommentsNeed advice for Desktop Switch
I’m looking for advice or direction on my office buildout. I’m looking for a 4 or 5 port Desktop Switch that has the link status LED’s on the front while keeping the ports on the back in a black color. The only one I see is only available in white. The reason for the black color is that all my peripherals are black and would blend seamlessly on my desk while having the LED’s on the front with the ports on back would allow me to hide the wiring and still be able to visually verify the network is connected without having to lift and turn the switch to view the link status LED’s. Any help or direction would greatly be appreciated. Thanks402Views0likes2CommentsFan Noise GS324P
Looking for 24 port switch with at least 8 POE+ ports. But I see that many units have fans. Can anyone confirm that the fan on the GS324P or other switch in this series - including managed like GS324TP - has a quiet fan suitable to use in an office environment where people sit and work close to the switch?Solved3.1KViews0likes11CommentsBest products for a router/modem/access point home network?
Hi all! I don't know much about this stuff. Forgive my uneducatedness in advance, please. I'm just a simple guy that wants a reliable and easy-going network. I don't really care about speeds; we really only use our internet for streaming video and surfing the web. I live in a 3-story townhome and the modem hook-ups are in the basement. We had a ceiling Cat 5 box installed on the top floor for a POE access point. My ideal situation is a cheap and reliable modem/router in the basement, and a POE access point on the upper floor. That should work well enough for our needs. Problem #1: I've only bought used modems/routers so far and all of them have been crappy. Right now I'm on Google Wifi (barf) and have to reset routers and modems at least once a week when the WiFi cuts out (but ethernet continues to work). What's a simple and cheap router/modem solution? It doesn't need to be able to handle high speeds. Problem #2: I need a POE access point that works nicely with my router/modem solution. I've tried a Netgear WAX214PA among some other devices in the past, but all of them created new network names/passwords on top of my existing network coming from my modem. I don't want to log into new networks (so to speak) each time I walk up or down the stairs. What's an access point that will make the transition flawless by simply expanding my single home network? Thank you!681Views0likes0CommentsS3300-28X EOL replacement
The S3300-28X is about EOL, original i would like to have the GS728TPv3 as the replacement. Everything looks good but if found that the bandwidth is a huge different. For S3300-28X, it is 128Gbps, bug GS728TPv3 only got 56Gbps. And i found similar grade with the bandwidth is XS728T, but it is much more expensive. Could you recommend some good alternative of S3300-28X
