Device not on same network as Insight app problem

My switch is on a different IP network than the Insight app on my phone.  The two networks are connected by a router.  Is it possible to configure the Insight app (or the Insight Portal) to make the switch manageable when its not on the same network?

Seems like an obvious requirement, but I am not able to make it work.

 

Any ideas?  Or is this just not possible with the Insight app.

    The Insight app does not mange anything direct on the insight devices.

     

    Of course, the preferred config (KISS) would be one single managed network per location, so all on one subnet. Of course, the direct discovery does happen on the subnet along with the mobile app in the first iteration. All these Insight cloud managed devices talk to the cloud only.
