dhcp snooping troubleshooting

Hello

 I  am in the process of trying to migrate from a gsm7353s [ m4100] to this new 10G switch.

dhcp snooping has been turned on.

however clients are not getting dhcp.

 could someone please point me to documentation on how to properly set up dhcp to work accross all vlans?

  • it looks like this switch is not a replacement for our GSM7352Sv2 48 .

    our current switch has a lot more capability like UDP Relay  and being able to set up at UDP Relay Global Configuration - our dhcp servers to use for udp relay.

    thanks anyway for the help!

      > May I know if you are setting up trunks or static routes?

      static routes are set on pfsense in one line:

           <staticroutes>
      <route> <network>10.1.0.0/16</network> <gateway>GW_LAN</gateway> <descr></descr> </route>
      ....
      </staticroutes>

      GW_LAN goes to 10.1.0.1 .   which is vlan 2 on the switch.

      vlan 37  goes to the switch with  desktop computers and office phones.   that is a M4100-50G-POE.

        the lag connecting the switches  is set to vlan 37U ,  pvid 37 .

       the DHCP server runs on a Proxmox server.

      the port is U10 , T3 .       proxmox host is on vlan 10 ,   the virtualized dhcp server uses vlan 3 3.

       I can supply more info  if needed.

      note the programming  for vlans  and pvid is identical to the production switch that just works.

       I'll be on site tomorrow  working on the switch, will read the link you sent  and  try some changes.

       let me know if i can supply more info to make our setup clearer.

      thanks for the help!
