If we wanted to expand the XS728T and have 10g ports, why aren't we able to just buy another XS728T and connect them via SFP+ ?

    Is that not possible ?

    Hello Lukas,

Yes, of course this is possible. You can (for example) use two XS728T and establish a trunk connection using 2..4 SFP+ based connections. The most affordable way is using 10G DAC cables like the Netgear AXC763 (or compatible) available in 1m and 3m length when set-up the devices side-by-side. Set-up multiple trunk ports in a 802.3ad LACP LAG, and use tagged VLANs of course.

The difference when using a stacked system is that you can maintain one logical switch, while the administration on multiple Smart Managed Pro switches is done per switch.
