Firmware update 2.6.0.48 blocks access to the webinteface outside the own subnet
Hi Techs,
today I updated the firmware on one of our GS116Ev2 from 2.6.0.43 to 2.6.0.48 via webinterface from a remote host which is connected via OpenVPN to network of switch. While the update could be installed without problems after reboot the web interface could not be accessed anymore. I tryed different browsers (Firefox, Chrome, EDXE) but all fail with "The website is not accessible" (e.g. Chrome says ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED). A cold restart of the switch did not help.
The webinterface of the switch itself is up and running, because when I tryed to access from a virtual machine in the same subnet of the switch a connection to the web interface is possible.
Since I've got a second switch (same model) within the subnet which is still on firmware 2.6.0.43 I can see, that the problem is not related to my browser or the remote host, because the access to switch on firmware 2.6.0.43 works fine, while the access the switch on firmware 2.6.0.48 fails.
I've read here in the formum (and in the German forum) that there are other customers facing connection problems after upgrading the the new firmware but the reports where linked to the ProSAFE Plus config utility which could not connect while I'm using the web frontend.
Unfortunately the web interface does not allow to downgrade to the previous firmware version, when trying I will be logged out immediately. I've read in the German forum that a user was able to downgrade but unfortunately not how he did. Is this only possible via TFTP and the ProSAFE Plus config utility? I'd like to check if access is possible again with the older firmware.
I assume that the problem is linked to the latest security fixes which are referred to in the knowledge base article but unforunately they are completely unspecific.
Any comments on that?
Kind regards
SPuch
PS: I'm faceing the same problem with the current firmware of GS108Ev3

Reads like the default gateway and/or subnet mask isn't properly handled on the Smart Managed Plus switch microcontroller, or there is a problem with the ARP resolution.

In the German community forum there is a thread with a note that the engineering department has confirmed some similar problems with FW version V2.06.14 which is for GS108Ev3. Maybe the problems are related or similar therefor I link it here in this thread. The GUI is not available anymore although the IP Adress can be reached. The problem is in both german and English firmware.
Further more there is a second thread explicitly related to the GS116Ev2 firmware 2.6.0.48. In that case the connection doesn't work with the Prosafe Plus Utility and a downgrade to previous firmware fixed the problem.
