GS 724Tv2 cannot be accesd anymore after password change

Dear Community,

while I did my latest change of the password to the GS724Tv2, I decided to use the full possible 20 character.

The change itself seems to be succesfull, as I cannot longer use my old password. :manfrustrated:

Unfortunately using the new password, the login dialog never comes back.

It looks like the password is accepted and the switch tries to send the start page, but the login dialog is not closed and I only see "waiting for ..." in my browser. The switch itself continued working as usual.

Any ideas?

I still have the FW 1.0.3_33

Many thanks.

  • Hi Nautilus041,

    Welcome to the community! :)

    Kindly answer the questions below:

    a. Is the GS724Tv2 switch still working fine even though you cannot login to its web-GUI?

    b. Have you tried to clear the cache/history of the browser you're using then try again to login to the web-GUI of the GS724Tv2?

    c. Have you tried using other browsers like Firefox or Safari to isolate the problem?

    d. Have you tried using other PC or laptop to isolate the problem?

If ever your answer is "yes" from the questions above and still same problem, I suggest you to perform a factory reset on the GS724Tv2 switch then reconfigure it from scratch.

    Regards,

      Dear DaneA,

please excuse my late reply. I can only work on this at weekends, so I couldn't check your hints earlier.

Thank you for your comprehensive answer.

to a) Yes, the switch contuinued working as all the years before. Only log-in seemed to be blocked.

      b) did the job!

After clearing the cache of Firefox, log-in to the switch is possible as before.

Many thanks again for your fast and good answer.

        Nautilus041,

You're welcome.  I'm glad to know that you are now able to access again the switch after clearing the cache of Firefox. :)

Fell free to post your future concerns here in the community.

        Cheers,
