Gs105Ev2

After 3 months of owning company bricked my switch and during the 3 month support it wouldn’t work without contacting support to let them allow access to the device. My router just bite the dust and I tried going back to the GS105Ev2 and the up address is the same as my busted router which died today and the switch allows me to log into the GUI to change IP… doesn’t connect the PC to modem. Theives then put me on hold even tho technically the hardware warranty that is guaranteed till 2028 is invalid because it doesn’t work. Grey area of lies and theft. Anyone have a fix?

A lot of confusion, probably paired with some wrong ideas and big mistakes?

In no aspect, the GS105Ev2 is a router, serving a LAN with NAT and a private IP subnet e.g.hnding out LAN IP addresses by DHCP.

Some CPE (customer premise equipment) are indedd pure modems, while others can be configured as routers, too.

Where ever you tried to reach Netgear support - which does mainly start on https://www.netgear.com/support/  or from https://my.netgear.com/ - then select the model on the serial number, then request hardware support.

Never use any kind of searach engines - unless you want to be ripped off!

Netgear Support does usually -not- request any kind of remote access, beeing your router, your PC, or your network.

Sure sure buying the device as biggest mistake. I know how it works what it’s used for… there is no request section for hardware failure for my GUI support so…
      Just a loser getting robbed.

As mentioned before, head to https://my.netgear.com/ where your device serial should have been registered (or do it now right away). Then click on the device, and follow the proces under [Request Hardware Support] process in case you suspect the switch is defect.
