How can I find out which hardware version my switches are (1, 2 or 3)? Nothing to indicate it on the hardware itself or interface.   I know it must be either 2 or 3, because the latest firmware for...

Based from the firmware version you have indicated which is 5.4.2.18, the model of your switch is GS110TPv2.  As reference, check the list of the firmware versions for the GS110TPv2 here.

    Thanks, I'll give the v2 firmware a shot.

     

    It's fiercely annoying when manufacturers don't bother to put the hardware revision somewhere on their devices, leaving it to guesswork :(
