GS305E/GS308E HTTP connction lost in Loader Mode
All my GS305E and GS308E Plus switches are loosing HTTP connection while acitivating Loader Mode for updating firmware. Access is via 802.1Q VLAN1 and Webbrower rsp. ProSAFE Plus utility. VLAN1 is always tagged. Current firmware is V1.0.0.5. All switches are having direct connection via LAN on one of its physical ports.
nmap probe for open port 80 shows that port 80 is closed in Loader mode, otherwise open.
Any special to do while entering Loader mode?
Yes, the normal Web-UI is coming back.

That's the point, finding a network driver that is passing VLAN tags would solve the problem. Thank you.

Can't speak of the newer GS305E/GS308E models.
As shown in the Gigabit Ethernet Plus Switches User Manual p.61/62,the earlier boot loaders showed either a very basic Web UI form for uploading the firmware, select early models requested the details of an active tftp server for starting the successful update.
Not showing the upload form could be related on certain dependencies of the Web browser. Avoid starting from tagged configs - the very basic IP stack can't deal with tagged frames.
When cold booting your GS305E/GS308E, the normal Web UI is coming back?

No, use untagged frames only. Connect the GS305E/GS308E and all other Plus switches (except the few versions built on fully managed cores) to a switch port not configured for tagged frames.
