What's the device using IP address of 192.168.178.2?
Might try a factory reset and setup from scratch. I might also disconnect all devices from the switch, then start with maybe just one or two devices connected to it, let it run and see if any links go down. If not, trying adding another device, keep doing this until something shows up again...

192.168.178.2 is the switch itself. 192.168.178.1 is a router managing the internet connection.
I had that way in my mind, but i hoped i do not have to go that (long) road... do you think a defective device could kill the link from other devices in the switch? if that's possible i'm really glad i do not have to manage more and bigger networks than my own đ

Ok, does the host router indicate any up and down issues or logged there?
What is the brand and model# of the host router the switch is connected too?
What CAT# LAN cable are you using? CAT6 UTP is recommended.
Does using a different port on the Switch that's connected to the host router change this?
Try switching ports on the host router as well...- doenermannApr 21, 2025Aspirant
I pretty sure the router / router-connecton is not the problem. I do not have any internet issues (link to the internet), only failing links between the switch end the end-devices. for now i removed the device with most link issues and connected it with an external poe injector directly to the router. But the link issues were not limited to only that device, it occured with several devices. I need to look the cables up, but there was no change for over three years now.
thanks for your help!

K, Ya check cables.
I saw Up and Down messages for the switch IP so reason why I ask about the router.
Might try a different port for the connection to the host router on the switch.
Hopefully you can narrow it down.
Try a good full on factory reset and well with out any devices connected accept for maybe one wired PC so you can set it up. Then start to add devices back on. Keep checking the logs for this issue.
