GS724TPP - fan's always disabled
Hi community,
I have bought a GS724TPP switch for my home network. No high traffic which goes over the switch, one POE-device (display) is connected.
But for it seems that the temperature is very high:
Sensor | Description | Temp(C) | State | Max Temp (C) |
1 | System | 54 | Normal | 54 |
2 | MAC | 58 | Normal | 58 |
3 | MAC | 63 | Normal | 63 |
The fan's are always off. Is that a normal behavior? I read that there isn't an option to turn on the fan's manually, they are temperature controlled.
Is that temperature still ok?
When is the switch turning on the fan's?
Thanks
Christian
Just allow a few comments:
The "Max Temp" is the one highest temperature observed in the recent time window This does not reflect a maximum allowed temperature.
Don't know what people expect - it's always a balance between the environment temperature, the switch and the PoE load, the energy required to power the fans, and at the end of the day the noise caused by fans.
Correct, there is no manual fan control for good reasons. Nothing the switch admins need to bother about.
Looks perfectly fine to me.
Last but not least the GS724TPP is a smart managed switch, not a managed switch.
