GS724Tv4 Network Instability
My configuration is GS724Tv4 ProSafe 24-port Gigabit Ethernet Smart Switch connected to a Firewalla Gold router and two 1 GB Internet feeds coming into Firewalla Gold (Fios and Optimum). The Fios is configured as primary and the Optimum is secondary fail-over. I have Deco BE85 wifi mesh system in AP mode (main unit plus 8 satellites) and the switch is used to connect to the main unit and 3 of the satellites as well as certain hard wired devices. My internet connection is consistently dropping during video conference calls, wifi calling (on vz mobile) and other streaming services (or getting network instability errors).
I read on the TP Link forum that: "when the backhaul method switches between wired and wireless, a short network loop is technically created(~5s). Any loopback detection features of your switch may be taking effect and blocking the port. Disabling the loopback detection features for the ports should help, especially in re-establishing their backhauls."
Can anyone assist me in how to disable the loopback detection features on the ports used for the Deco mesh wifi system?
Thanks!

I would log into the Switches web ui and check around for any features seen on the web pages for Loopback Detection. Should be a enable or disable button.
Check to see if any FW is available for the switch as well.

Hello alew,
Welcome to the NETGEAR Community! 🙂
In GS724Tv4, look instead for STP as it does not have "Loop detection". You can try to disable the STP globally under Switching > STP > Basic > STP Configuration or per port where the Deco Satellite is connected under Switching > STP > Advanced > CST Port Configuration.
