How to set a port to 1GB on an XS728T
There you go, it's all in the title. Is it possible to set the speed of a port to 1GB on an XS728T, regardless of the speed of the device connected to the switch port? Thank you for your help.

No, because if IEEE mandates Auto-Link-Speed for any copper Ethernet of 1 Gb/s and up. Devices allowing fixing Ethernet link speed to 1000 Mb/s are not IEEE compliant.

The XS728T doesn’t support forcing a port to 1Gbps if the connected device doesn’t negotiate that speed. It auto-negotiates based on the connected device’s capabilities. Manual speed setting is limited and usually only applies when supported by both ends.
It's not a product limitations or restriction - it is defined in the IEEE standards have that for any copper Ethernet link speed of 1000Mb/s and abive -must- auto-negotiate. ...
Wonder why people want to restrict a properly auto negotiating 10 GbE (keep in mind the XS7xxT models don't support MultiGig like 2.5 GbE and 5 GbE. Poor men's throttling?
