Welcome to our community! :)
It seems that you are having issues with the switch. May I know the firmware version? If it still not running on the latest version, please do update the firmware. You may download the firmware here.

ICMP requests only work on the management VLAN. This is a security feature of this device.

okay, but what is strange then, is that the device responds to ICMP echo requests, when I enter my VPN-Gateway as the Gateway for Internet access.
Moreover the ICMP Gateway Redirect Messages do get issued from within the management VLAN, so the switch should accept them.
I understand, that in standard configuration packets from different IP-Networks get dropped, but when I set the ACL I thought the Switch would accept the packets.
The IP-Packets from the remote side flow through multiple hops, but end up in the management VLAN, but they originate from a different IP-subnet than the subnet within the management VLAN.
Does the switch not support sending responses to its gateway, when the source IP does not belong to its own subnet?

It only responds if the IP is on the same subnet. This switch doesn't have the capability to do that unless you do have routing enabled on that subnet. If you need a routable switch, you may need a Smart Switch or a Managed switch for that function.
