The 40GB -> 4 * 10GB connection is only used to link our core switch to one of our office switches & using all four 10GB SFP+ ports. It's not going from our core switch to four separate devices.
In this case, would there be any advantage of configuring LAG on both ends?

Yes, in my opinion we have to ... Otherwise you might end with a loop and port shutdowns.
