Pro Safe XS728T Setup Issues

I have 2 XS728T for my  Macs Labs (Photo and video editing) one of the switches shows an annoying message at login that cannot connect to registration server. I updated the firmware to latest version and have the same issue, I reset to factory defaults and at setup screen (to change the password)  it won't let me do that, tried to reset the password ath the secutity tab and says "No user admin"

I contacted tech support and after 2 sessions and an escalation the "solution" to the problem was to downgrade the firmware version  to 3 precious versions and use ONLY internet explorer.

That 'fix" allowed me to change the password and setup the switch but sitll shows the annoying message that cannot connect to registration server.

Either the switch is bad and needs replacement or is not and the requirements need to specify you need only internet explorer and a lower firmware version.

Very strange, as using mostly Chrome (Windows however) for any kind of switches, including the XS728T/XS748T since day zero, including 6.5.1.51. Oddly, .54 is listed on the download page https://www.netgear.com/support/product/XS728T.aspx - but neither the KB nor the firmware package is available. Well possible there was a show-stopper on .54.

Actually, keep in mind it's not the switch reaching out direct to the Internet - it's done via the browser while accessing the switch. As of writing, I see this message - looks like Netgear does maintenance on the registration system.

Thank you for the reply, certainly the switch uses the browser to contact the server but if the server does not answers, it really doesn't matters what browser you use.

The problem is that after factory reset when prompted for the password to login, I type the password and asks for a new password, befor I can enter the password the error message pops up and you cannot change the password, it takes you to the switch web interface.

Once on the interfaceif I try to change the password I get an error saying "Error, no admin user" and also cannot save any changes made to the configuration
