These control selections are to select the policies on how the traffic is distributed on the two or more physical links on a LAG. Every chipset vendor and OEM does typically have different sets available - at the end of the day, a switch with a correct configured and working LAG does not care about. Unrelated to STP - however, STP must sometimes be explicitly configured and enabled on the LAG "device".
