Thanks for reaching out.
We got this working.
Step 1: Upgrade to the latest firmware.
Step 2: Forget the GUI.
We had some issues relating to old firmware - causing the trunk links to have some incompatibility with how they tag and untag frames between Cisco and Netgear.
After upgrading the firmware we had access to 'switchport mode access' and 'switchport mode trunk' commands fixing the access port and trunking issues.
