VLAN Struggle

Using this old switch to do a lab in an attempt to get my vlan skills up to date.

I have a USG Pro3 with a single Unifi AP.

What I am trying to accomplish is to have a single port on the switch pass the default vlan (1) to the wireless AP as well as transmit the guest network signal while keeping them separated logically.

Im sure this is easy, but I have sifted through too many articles and videos and still do not know how to pull this off.

Please advise on how to set up the trunk port to the router as well as the port to the AP. My unifi piece is already done and the guest network is on vlan 69.

Thanks for any advice you can provide.

  • That's the fun and pun of UniFi - they don't help much on insight on networking.

K.I.S.S. leave the base VLAN 1 which incudes the UniFi management on the VLAN 1, Untagged, PVID 1. All other trunks are Tagged. Very simple in fact.

Thank you for this. Very simple as you said. I was going around the world to get across the street. This worked for me immediately.

      Thanks again.
