8 port unmanaged switch connected directly to my spectrum modem issue

Question

I just purchased an 8 port unmanageable switch after moving my spectrum router to the first floor. &nbsp;I connected the switch directly into the spectrum modem and plugged the router into the switch. &nbsp;The switch recognizes the router and works as expected. &nbsp;The issue is the other ports on the switch are not recognizing network connectivity. &nbsp; Power cycled all devices. &nbsp; &nbsp;Any suggestions? &nbsp;

You need to go modem----&gt;router----&gt;switch
Spectrum only supplies 1 public ip address (unless you pay for more) and that gets assigned to the router. The router then supplies private ip addresses. (simplified version). That's why you need to go modem---&gt;router---&gt;switch
